What is Real World Manners?
Real World Manners is a 5-week group class taught by professional trainer Devi Do and hosted at Paws Stop. This 5-week course costs $175—a substantial savings to personal training classes! Class attendees will be extended a 15% discount on all purchases made at Paws Stop during the the classes and be offered a private shopping window from 10:30am-11am before the store opens. You and your dog will build practical skills that work not only in class but also out in the real world—learning how to focus, stay calm, and listen even with distractions around.
This 5-week course begins on Sunday, January 18th at 9:30AM. Attendees may arrive at 9:15am to get settled and prepared for class to start.

What should I bring to class?
Bring your dog, of course—but also the right gear to set them up for success. Supply list items are all available for purchase at Paws Stop and class attendees will receive a 15% discount on their purchasing during class for the duration of the 5-week course.
- A 4–6 ft leash (no retractable, bungees, or long line leashes).
- A collar or harness that fits properly. Flat collars, martingales, head halters, or front-clip harnesses are all welcome. Prong collars, choke chains, and e-collars are not allowed.
- A treat pouch or fanny pack that leaves your hands free.
- A variety of high-value treats (think of it like a trail mix—small, tasty, and easy to eat quickly).
Are there dress or safety rules?
Yes. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes since you’ll be moving around. For safety, no open-toed shoes or heels. Dogs are not allowed to greet each other on leash during class, and please always ask before approaching or petting another dog.
Can kids come?
Each dog may have up to two handlers, but children under 13 years old cannot participate in class for safety reasons.
What should I do before entering class?
Please give your dog a potty break in the yard or side area before walking in. Restrooms for humans are available inside Paws Stop.
What can I expect on the first day?
The first class may feel a little chaotic—new dogs, people, and smells are exciting! That’s normal and exactly why you signed up. Devi will help you teach your dog how to focus and listen even with distractions. You’ll also learn when to take a quick break outside to reset if your dog is feeling overwhelmed.
How do I ask questions?
You’re encouraged to ask training questions during class, but if you have something specific to your own dog’s behavior, it’s best to save those for after class. Devi is always happy to chat one-on-one.
What makes this class special?
You’ll not only walk away with practical skills, but also fun insights and “science factoids” about dog behavior. Devi’s style combines knowledge, patience, and humor, making training enjoyable for both you and your pup.
